Irmo Quarterback David Olson threw 16 touchdown passes and just one interception while leading the Yellow Jackets to the second round of the state playoffs.
Janae' Stevenson is the MVP and captain of the Eau Claire volleyball team.
Ana Suarez is the captain of the Dreher cross country team. She has earned Most Improved and All-District honors and was the 2008 Junior Girls Road Race State Champion.
Hannah Cox has been a 4-year starter on the Ridge View Volleyball team. Her teammates elected her captain for her senior season and she made the All-Region team.
Marcus McMorris is a standout running back and linebacker on the Newberry football team.
Caleen Hawkins and Andrea Keesee are co-captains on the Blythewood volleyball team that is ranked fourth in the state. Caleen is rated the number one setter in the state and she has earned All-State and All-Region honors.
Josh Glenn is a three-sport standout at Wilson Hall. He is the captain and quarterback on the Barons' football team, an All-Star point guard on the basketball team and sprinter and high jumper on Wilson Hall's state champion track team.
Drew Harris is a Co-MVP and Captain on the Lexington Cross Country team. He's earned All-Region honors three years running.
Camden (WLTX) - Melissa Kearse is the captain of the Camden volleyball team. She made All-State and All-Region last year as a junior and, for the past two years, she was named the team's Offensive Player of the Year.
Columbia (WLTX) - The 2008-2009 News19 Players of the Year were announced at a banquet Wednesday night in Columbia.
Logan Holler has earned All-Region honors in soccer and she is one of the A.C. Flora team captains. Logan is also a champion horse rider and she has signed with USC's nationally-ranked equestrian team.
(WLTX) - Irmo's Haley Hutchens is an All-State soccer player. She was the Player of the Year last year as a junior, but this past December she blew out her right knee.
(WLTX) - Aaron Markham plays third base for the Dreher baseball team - just one of about five different positions he has played for Coach Pete Guyton's Blue Devils.
(WLTX) - Megan Kunkle is the captain of the Lakewood soccer team. She was also captain of the Gators volleyball team. She has earned the Coach's Award and All-Region honors.
(WLTX) - Sarah Moseley is the starting pitcher on the Newberry softball team. She has earned All-Region honors two years running. Sarah was also a member of the Bulldogs' swim team and qualified for the state swim meet.
Shawanda Hanton and Erika Sumpter, both players for the Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School girls baskeball team, are co-News19 Players of the Week.
Camden (WLTX) Evrik Gary captained the Camden basketball team that captured the 3-A state championship. It was the Bulldogs' first title since 1958.
Josh Sullivan is a captain on the Sumter wrestling team. He's ranked third in state, number one in lower state, and he has been selected to compete in the North-South All-Star matches.
(WLTX) -- Morgan Stroman is a co-captain on the Lower Richland basketball team. She has helped lead the Diamond Hornets, coached by her mom, Debbie Stroman to three consecutive state championships.
