Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The Richland County Coroner's office and Columbia police are looking into the death of a USC student over the weekend.

Zachary Robinson, a junior from Greenville, died early Saturday morning.

An incident report filed by Columbia Police states officers were called to Palmetto Richland Hospital just after 1 a.m.  The report says when Robinson was brought to the hospital, doctors said he was already in cardiac arrest.

He was pronounced dead a short time later.

According to the report, witnesses told officers that earlier in the evening, Robinson was "unsteady on his feet" and "messed up" at his home on South Pickens Street in Columbia.  The witnesses also said when they didn't see him for 10 minutes, they went to his bedroom to check on him. When they entered, the witnesses said he was pale, blue and gasping.

His roommates then loaded Robinson in a car and took him to the hospital.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says a cause of death has not been determined, but there are no signs of a suspicious death.

A USC official said Robinson was a civil engineering major.
